Preparing for Summer as Self-Care

Ready or not...summer is upon us! The summertime is full of activity. The kids (and teachers) are out of school. Pools are full of patrons, and BBQ grills are smoking. There is no shortage of social invitations, and we are all busy. As fast as summer comes, it goes. We must be intentional in scheduling self-care time before fall rolls in. Here is a list of things you can do this summer to focus on self-care.

Summer Self-Care Ideas

  1. Take a solo trip, even if it's a staycation. Local hotels usually have deals for local guests. Take a few days and relax.

  2. Pick a few local attractions/museums you want to visit. Many sites are free at least one day during the week.

  3. The summer is full of outdoor festivals. Pick one or two to attend.

  4. Join a book club., or start one.

  5. Most cities have activities all summer. Head to your city's website and look at the calendar of events.

  6. Plan a road trip with your girlfriends.

  7. Become a tourist in your city and take a sightseeing tour. Try a new restaurant.

  8. Attend a music concert/festival. Nothing says summer and self-care like good live music and sunshine.

No matter how you decide to fill your summer days, be sure to plan some time to do what you want, the way you want. The summer is full of opportunity. You can explore solo or include your crew. Either way, enjoy your summer and make time for YOU!

Here's to your health!
