Knowing Your Strengths As Self-Care

Doctor Kellee

To operate in your gifting, you must first identify your strengths. Your strengths are the things you excel in and may also be something you are known for. For example, someone who is detail-oriented and organized might make a great personal assistant or event planner. Someone patient and passionate about children might consider a career in education or counseling. In any case, when we identify our passion and strengths, amazing things can happen.

When assessing your strengths, think about what people come to you for. What service do you provide that others recognize as valuable? Strengths may include leadership, communication, teaching/explaining concepts, planning events, and reasoning skills.

Another way to identify your strengths is to ask others how they perceive you. What do they value about you? What skillset do others ask you to utilize? You can also consider completing an online assessment to help uncover your strengths. A professional coach can help you to develop and refine your strengths to align with your purpose. A firm grasp of your strengths will help you determine what you are passionate about and what you are called to do. Discovering why we were created allows us the opportunity to chart our course forward.

Aligning our passions with our strengths is the perfect storm for success. Living a purposeful life is both meaningful and rewarding. It feels good to use our gifts to their fullest potential. The world is a better place when we are at our best. Take some time to explore and discover your unique strengths.

Here's to your health!
